With an area of 62,125 sqm, a berthing line of 552 meters and a depth of 12 m, the pier located in the central city area is primarily aimed at the Cruise Terminal, besides being sometimes used for docking warships, research vessels and large sailboats.
The Maritime Terminal of the Port is located here, with an area of 8,744 sqm, providing all services necessary for the control and movement of passengers and crews of cruise ships that dock at this pier. In its west wing there are some offices on the Port Authority (Control and Security Center), and other official bodies such as Salvage, Harbour Master and Overseas Health, among others.
Recently it has completed the enlargement of the mooring line of this pier, with three structures known as "DUQUE DE ALBA", thus reaching the 700-meter of berthing line, long enough to simultaneously accommodate two of the largest cruise ships currently existing.
It houses one of the major marinas in the Ria de Vigo, operated by the Royal Nautic Club of Vigo under an administrative concession. There is also a dedicated area for embarking and disembarking of passengers using the transport of the estuary, and berthing of vessels of the Port Towing Service.
